Not going to alt.polycon

Thanks to everyone who followed up to my request for attention and/or sent good wishes for my various health and mood issues in other ways.

On top of everything else, I injured my leg (the one that wasn't already in pain from sciatica) last week, and it's still giving me a lot of trouble, especially in the early morning, which means I'm chronically short on sleep.

So because of all that, I've decided not to go to alt.polycon.

I'll miss y'all. But feel free to be as noisy and raucous as you want, since I won't be around to grump at you for it.

And I'll expect a full report on the mountains of subtext afterward. :-)

I'm not going either. I really wanted to so I could meet some of the folks from ap, but we still haven't sold our house in CA yet (know anybody who wants a 4BR house in the east bay?) and we just can't afford for me to go to both it and worldcon. And worldcon's been my gang longer.

I know people who want a 4br house in the east bay, but I don't know people who want one who can pay for it.

Back when I still thought I was going to alt.polycon, I made a similar decision about worldcon - would have liked to go, but couldn't afford to be away for that long.

So - more folks for the distributed party!
