I crocheted a shawl
18 Jun 2004 08:18 pmIt's based on Seraphina's Shawl, a batwing shawl designed by Doni. I found the design linked in the
crochet community. The web page teaches how to make it. There are some mistakes in the instructions, but if you have crochet experience, you can work around them.
Doni's web page shows that she tends to use several yarns held together or Lion Brand chunky yarns. I used a single fairly thin strand of cotton/rayon yarn. The pix don't show it, but the yarn has blue and red bits in it, which combine for the overall purplish effect. I used a bigger hook than one would normally use for thin yarn, which makes the shawl more open and lacy.
