I rigged up a home system to melt my wax tarts—I had a ceramic candle holder that I made myself in the ceramic class I took nigh on two decades ago, and I used the disposable ceramic bowl that comes with TJ's frozen creme brulee (now there's a weird concept) to melt the wax. It was kind of interesting. The scent was subtle (undetectable from more than four feet away) and depending on how close I was to the melted wax it smelled of coconut oil (farthest), cotton candy (middle distance), or candy cane (inches away).
