I rigged up a home system to melt my wax tarts—I had a ceramic candle holder that I made myself in the ceramic class I took nigh on two decades ago, and I used the disposable ceramic bowl that comes with TJ's frozen creme brulee (now there's a weird concept) to melt the wax. It was kind of interesting. The scent was subtle (undetectable from more than four feet away) and depending on how close I was to the melted wax it smelled of coconut oil (farthest), cotton candy (middle distance), or candy cane (inches away).

I have to say, spoonerizing that term, as my brain did the first four times I tried to read it, is only slightly more disturbing than the non-spoonerized term.

Fun. I love the smell of all three of those things.

"The Wax Tarts Experiment" sounds like a B movie with wax museum prostitutes.

I love TJ's frozen creme brulee, and the ceramic bowls they come in that seem too nice to actually dispose of.
