I was thinking this morning that everyone I know is "on for a while /
off for a while" about exercise, and I was thinking it would be a good
idea for scientists to do research on the health effects of such
patterns. The current research says "exercising is good, not exercising
is bad," but it doesn't say whether being on again/ off again has an
effect in and of itself. Is it like yo-yo dieting where it causes
damage? Or is it neutral, and the more cumulative exercise you get the
healthier you are, regardless of whether you have off times? Or do off
times of certain lengths have different health effects?
