firecat(1) because people change, rules should be re-negotiable
(2) because people don't like change, rules shouldn't be re-negotiated on little whims
(3) everybody has stuff they can't handle (boundaries or limits)
(4) rules of living have to fall within the boundaries or folks won't be content
(5) everybody should be prepared that at some point things might go wonky and they might have to leave.
