nosocomial infection nearly killed my dad. i'm trying to remember the three things he nearly died of that fall, and i can't remember one of them. but one of them was definitely mrsa (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, aka the kiss your ass goodbye bacteria).

I recently had a operation and had complained about pain where the incision was and all they told me was that it was normal. Well about a week later my husband came into the room where I was and he said that something smelt in the room. I pointed to my operation and that was it...it was a smell of rotten meat. I was taken to emergency room and they saw a science project growing on my wound. They had to remove all the staples and let Mother Nature do her deal. We wrote a letter to the President of the hospital complaining because I was upset that no one should suffer from this. They came to the conclusion that the surgeon never checked my incision after the operation before I was released from the hospital. I was very sick from this and could have lost my life from it. With all the modern things that we have today this should not happen to anyone.
