I entered a crocheted afghan and a crocheted shawl in the San Mateo County Fair. They were both displayed (I think they display everything they get, unlike some fairs) and the shawl won a second-place ribbon.

The large crocheted afghan class had a lot more entries than last year. (The main reason I decided to display mine, despite its not being the tidiest example of crochet ever, was that last year there weren't many entries in the class and what was there was kind of plain. I wanted to spice things up a bit.) The entry immediately above mine (you can just see the fringe) had a great dinosaur graphic on it and it won a deserved ribbon.

I couldn't tell what other items were in the "other" crocheted apparel category because they were scattered all over the room rather than displayed in one place. My item was displayed with a quilt (in the background) and items from several other categories.

I remember the shawl from the fair. Don't remember seeing the afgan, though.

I thought it was strange how the knitting and crochet items were scattered all around the building.

Wondering how I got here? I also belong to the Python group.

Also, I belong to a great knitting group that usually meets in Redwood City.
1st Monday of the month. Let me know if you want more info.
