bead crochet

By request, here are two images of a bracelet I made (while I was in Mendocino in September) using bead crochet.

I didn't like bead crochet. You have to string all the beads you plan to use before you do anything else, which I found boring. Then you have a huge string of beads to manage. I spilled some of them once or twice.

Hmn, I was just reading about bead crochet in Beadwork. Stringing all the beads beforehand sounds easier to me somehow (though I haven't tried this myself yet), because one could get into the bead-stringing assembly-line mentality. Of course, that's just me, and we already know that I have a fondness for repetitive motion in crafting. :)

I like repetitive motion too; the problem is that stringing very small beads isn't really a repetitive motion. You have to concentrate, and chase them around with the needle. At least I do. I don't have a bead-stringing gadget; I understand such things exist.

Pretty beads indeed, and they look lovely arranged like that. I wonder whether it'd work if they were "crocheted" on very fine silver wire instead of cotton?

I understand bead crocheting does work with wire, yes. I haven't tried it myself.

I use audiobooks while I'm driving but I have yet to use them while crafting. I usually watch TV. This may change once I've seen every episode of "Emergency vets" approximately 47 times.
