sick kitty and naughty kitty

The OH and I took Biscuit to the emergency vet last night, because she threw up about 20 times in four hours. The vet said her xrays showed no problems and her bloodwork was OK except that she was dehydrated and had a slightly high white cell count. (Possibly due to inflammation?) We decided to have her admitted for 24 hours and given fluids and medicine.

This morning the vet reported Biscuit to be doing better, and if she keeps food down, she is on schedule for release this evening.

In the meantime, Angus peed in a cardboard box in my study.

Oh ouch - I hope Biscuit is stabilizing! I was so worried when my Jackie decorated the house. Same treatment. Hope Biscuit bounces back just as quickly as Jackie did.

Did they ever figure out what triggered it, with Jackie?

Not really. The theory is hairballs, and the theory about the blood was that she'd been chronically puking and had messed up her esophagus. In truth I wouldn't have blinked an eye if she'd puked that much over that much territory without blood in it, so I'm sure he's right about that part. Why she has so much hairball trouble I really don't know. Yeah she's long-haired, yeah she's little inside... maybe that's all of it.
