firecat: red panda, winking (sleeping kitty)
[personal profile] firecat

Biscuit came home last night; she seems alert and lively. She is on a special "EN" diet for a couple of days so we're keeping her upstairs and separated from Angus.

The vet doesn't know what caused the problem. I gather sudden mysterious tummy upsets are not uncommon in kitties.

My personal theory is some kind of not very digestible bug, but who knows?

Steve for about the first year we had him would barf all the time for no reason that we could tell. In the last 6 months or so, that thankfully has stopped.

I'm beginning to suspect it was just a nervous stomach. Sean thinks it could have been related to his kittenhood on the street where he didn't get enough to eat, and so would eat too much when he had the chance, and then throw up.

These days I've noticed that Steve is a lot less skittish, and less barf-y. It's taken a long time, but he's a good cat, and I'm glad we've had the patience to put up with him. (He was at the humane society a long time, I suspect because of the vomit problem. I'm glad we found him, because I'm sure another family would have sent him back because of the vomit. It was that bad.)
