My best knowledge says that it's the original work of Ashleigh Brilliant. He chose it for the title of this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0880071621/qid=1122676576/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-3276343-2156057?v=glance&s=books&n=507846), one of several collections of his epigrams.

I like the "may not be the only" -- attributing quotes is a difficult business, even when all involved are still around to talk to!
