from http://threadless.com/product/449/Chinese_Peaches which is available on t-shirts up to men's XL. I think there ought to be some kind of rule about depicting people on a t-shirt and not offering it in sizes that would fit said people.

Too cute!

(and yes, it'd be nice if the t-shirts came in larger sizes)

That is cute and I would totally wear that...if it was available in a size that would fit.

I was so annoyed that only the mens variety was available in a range of sizes that I sent them a letter of complaint.

Here's what I sent them:

Hello,

I have a complaint about the sizing of this product: http://threadless.com/product/449/Chinese_Peaches

This imagery is something that I perceive as appealing to larger sized people...particularly women. In fact, I happen to like this design. The only problem is that the only size listed is 'small'. This seems counterproductive to actually selling this product. Its also rather annoying to note that the mens variety of the same product is available in sizes up to XL. I think its MUCH less likely that men are going to buy this item (especially with the color being pink).

I would love to see your company fix this issue so that a wider range of customers can purchase this item.

I look forward to your response.

Thank you,
Rachael Bradshaw

we'll see if they actually respond.

I've written to Threadless in the past about their limited size range, and got the usual "not cost effective" boilerplate in response. I'll be interested to see if you get anything different.

So cute! I wonder if they're not just out of the larger sizes -- surely they don't really carry only a women's small? other shirts on the site have larger sizes -- but they should really indicate that better so we know what the usual size range is.

If you click on "What's In Stock" it does in fact show that the shirt comes in women's sizes up to XL -- but the only one they currently have available is S.

Very cute! I want to steal your icon now. It irritates me that stuff like that doesn't come larger. The Big Girl Knits t-shirts are rather limited in size, too. That's a Cafepress issue, but still...

I'm on their fit list, but they have yet to send me any samples.

That is a cute picture! I like the icon, too -- may I swipe, with credit?

Now... professional interest speaking. Given the price on those shirts, I have to wonder what they're made of, and what brand of shirt they're using. You can get really cheap blanks from Korea, but the sizing on those tends to be, shall we say, sort of random? And I'm much more likely to buy a 100% cotton shirt than a 50/50, just because they're more comfortable.

The color of shirt may also have a bearing on the sizes available. Some companies simply don't make shirts larger than 2X or 3X in any colors except black and white; this is something we have to deal with, as we routinely stock up to 5X and can get 6X for special orders.

The other thing is, larger blanks cost more. Typically, we can get sizes up to XL for the base price; after that, you're looking at an extra dollar or so per X added. Especially if this is a CafePress kind of shop, it may very well be that the administrators don't want to have to do differential pricing (or that their software doesn't support it!), and so they just don't make larger sizes available.

But I absolutely agree, if any shirt ever SCREAMED to be printed in the largest sizes possible, this one certainly does!

Hadn't heard of them. Their site doesn't give prices (I guess you have to call), but I've got them bookmarked now and will pass along the information to Russ. If they sell in less than case quantities, there are several colors we might be interested in getting.

We've noticed that many times when someone finds out that we have 4X and 5X, they'll buy several shirts at once -- sometimes as many as 5 or 6. I'm guessing it's because not many T-shirt vendors carry those sizes.

Oh, and did you ever ask around to see if anyone wanted to pick up "Woman of Substance"? I think he took it off the website because it didn't sell, but I'm sure he could be persuaded to do a wholesale order.
