the Hugo meme PLUS
26 Jun 2006 02:03 amI love book list memes. Earlier this year I came across one that listed not only the Hugos, but also the Nebulas, Stokers, Dicks, Tiptrees, WFAs, and Clarkes. Here it is:

Since then I've also read Hiromi Goto's The Kappa Child, which was the 2001 Tiptree winner, and Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, which won the 2005 Hugo and World Fantasy awards.

Date: 26 Jun 2006 01:23 pm (UTC)I did re-read The Left Hand of Darkness recently. I loved it the first time, and I loved it this time. It's a great story, and the gender-stuff is done so well, never taking the easy path, always looking for the story rather than the effect.
