two necklaces

Here are the necklaces I entered in the San Mateo County Fair. I gave them to my mom for Christmas, and she graciously allowed me to borrow them back for the fair.


Entered in the "Beaded jewelry" category

Entered in the "Wire-wrapped jewelry" category. Won second prize. There were very few entries in this category, but there were more than two :) Oddly, I couldn't find any entry with a blue ribbon.

Sometimes they don't award a blue ribbon, if none of the entries fully measure up to some specific list of standards. (This is based on my extremely limited experience with the Alameda County Fair a number of years back--I entered some costuming work I'd done, and some jam. My costuming also won a second prize. :^)

Do the particular number of blue beads "mean" anything (as in the DNA scarf), or are they just randomly arranged to look pretty?
