How am I supposed to know whether I want to buy a book of knitting patterns if I can't see photos of the patterns? The publishers' web sites, Amazon, and the yarn companies' web sites usually show photos of one or maybe even up to six patterns, but most of the books contain lots more patterns than that. Yes, I can go to my LYS* to look at books, but they usually don't have every book I want to look at.

Yes, I know what you mean.

I have, in the past, "compromised" and bought a used on on half.com, but I've always been disappointed. Most of them are books I'm not going to make things out of RIGHT NOW, even though I want to see the book right now. But it's very hard to remind myself of that.

(I have ILL in my Bookmarks Toolbar, that's how important a resource I consider it. We can do this all online, which is very convenient.)

Humm, unless it's bleeding edge new, might be that one of your knitting friends has it and can either loan, or at least review it. Most of us junkies have far too many books on our craft habits
