Does anyone know what the Mythopoeic Society Conference is like? It's in Berkeley this year and if it's any good the OH and I might consider checking it out.

Um. Kind of insular? And full of more-Christian-than-thou Christians?

Might get more/better/different answers if you ask when people aren't at cons. (I'm checking mail/parts-of-LJ over breakfast just now, but not everyone bothers getting online, and I know this isn't the only con this weekend.)

I've been to a number and, in fact, used to be on the Council of Stewards. I describe them as a mix of academic conference and sf con. We have serious papers and good panels during the day and then get very silly at night. I think [livejournal.com profile] calimac is this year's chair if you'd like more info.

[livejournal.com profile] shulamuth would be a good person to ask; she's doing publications for them this year. Email of IM me & I'll give you her phone# & email address.
