Over at [livejournal.com profile] poets_challenge the challenge was to write a Rhyme Royal. I tried.

Burgess Shale
In darkness once all stories lay untold.
Then slowly rising Sun lay bare the world.
Came poets, bards, and singers out the cold:
Up blazed the Fire and golden dancers whirled.

'Til Ocean thundered down and flames all quelled.
In silence lapped the tide where once they dwelled.

The fossil lives that sleep inside the stone
Guard tales that curiosity makes known.

Oh, I like that closing couplet a lot.

Just Curious

It thunders I agree, but I am curious about the personal tie-in. Pulling that kind of thunder out of your arse is not easy stuff. I feel like a wee bug, 'cause you are a writer (of tech manuals) and puts my off on my wee feeble attempts (ie what does a real writer of novels and all that do)
