just in case you were thinking of dropping to your third place choice on that second one, ron paul is a racist nutjob. fyi.

i had not even heard anything about gravel, including that he was running. so his campaign seems to not be doing its job.

kucinich is unelectable because no one can spell his name. i expect this sounds like i'm kidding, but i'm not.

I was pretty severely disinclined against Ron Paul because he is anti-choice; "racist nutjob" certainly adds to the disinclination.

According to Wikipedia, Gravel has been campaigning exclusively in New Hampshire due to limited funds.

I agree. It's just that, the way I figure it, if people like us keep not participating because we think that candidates who share our views are unelectable, that's a good way for such candidates to stay unelectable.

when i took this survey, they basically had relatively little information on what gravel's stand on various issues is, which explained (though not in a satisfactory way) why he and i didn't have a lot of disagreements.

my top candidate is kucinich. which, from what i've read about his views, is about right. it's too bad he is way too far left for today's democrat party. i'd not want to be forced to vote for hillary clinton (since even she would be marginally better than any republican candidate, but i dislike her so much that it would hurt to vote that way strategically -- and i see no way how i'd not vote strategically in a US presidential election).

Yeah, there were some issues Gravel was listed as not having an opinion on, but upon further investigation (mainly on http://vote-smart.org) I do agree with him on most of the important stuff.

I figure I could do worse than support Gravel's and/or Kucinich's campaigns now. They won't get nominated but if a lot of people support them and their alternative take on the issues, it might influence the ones who do get nominated.

When I took the first quiz a while back, I mostly matched Chris Dodd, which surprised me. I think he has more chance of winning than Gravel or Kucinich, but not much.
