2) What was your dream growing up?
A. The first thing I remember wanting to be was an astronaut. Later I read about Madame Curie and wanted to be a chemist.
3) What talent do you wish you had?
A. I'd like to pick up foreign languages easily.
4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A. Depends on my mood, but a gin and tonic is typical.
5) Favorite vegetable?
A. I eat carrots almost daily.
6) What was the last book you read?
A. I'm in the middle of D. R. Meredith's By Hook or By Book.
7) What zodiac sign are you?
A. Virgo.

A. No. I have had mehndi (henna tattoos) done, but the whole idea of anything permanent creeps me out.
9) Worst Habit?
A. Sloth.

A. If I noticed you, sure, but I can be kind of oblivious.
11) What is your favorite sport?
A. To watch - baseball. To play - hmmm, I'm more a walk or dance than sports person, though I used to play tennis. And I do like to swim, though I rarely do.
12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
A. Usually optimistic.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Talk.
14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. I was hit by a car when I was 15. I wasn't really injured, but it was traumatic anyway.

A. I always set the alarm clock for times ending in 17, 37 or 57.

A. Not currently.

A. The odds are that I wouldn't be home. If I were, I'd invite you in, of course.

A. I think I first ran into you long ago on either soc.singles or alt.support.big-folks and thought of you as one of the saner, more articulate posters to those groups.
19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
A. I don't really think about clowns. More silly than cute or scary, I guess.
20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. My front upper teeth. It's a long story, involving an adult tooth not coming in, a couple of episodes of minor surgery and years of unsuccessful orthodontia.
21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
A. It would depend on the crime in question, but more likely your conscience.
22) What color eyes do you have?
A. My documents list my eyes as hazel, though I have to admit I'm not entirely sure what color "hazel" is. I think of my eyes as sort of greyish-green.

A. No.
24) Bottle or can soda?
A. I mostly drink bottled seltzer. If I do drink soda, it tends to be cans because they're typically smaller.
25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
A. Save half and use half for a trip somewhere.

A. Are there any goals you've given up on? I've sort of accepted that I'm not going to win the Olympics or the Nobel Prize, but only reluctantly.

A. The deck of a small ship on the ocean. Just staring out at the water and sea birds. I can settle for watching the sea from land.

A. No,

Date: 31 Jan 2008 11:12 am (UTC)Well, Berkeley and L.A. are not that far away, so we kept seeing each other, though not exclusively. And we attempted a platonic relationship for a while, but that didn't work since, basically, we can't keep our hands off each other.
It got more complicated when he moved to London. And then I moved to D.C. and he moved to Stockholm and, somehow, 22+ years down the road, the fire is still there.
