When I saw that, I wondered if those were my neighbor's cats. She has a big orange one and a little grey tabby. However, her little tabby has spots rather than those classic whorls.

The little one, Ava, snuck out of her apartment and into the hall where I found her. It was 6:30am, and I thought that was too early to call the neighbor or knock, so I put on leather gloves and a jacket and captured Ava (who turned out to be tame and affectionate).

We got ahold of the neighbor later and gave her back her cat. All was well in the building.

I was thinking about this the other night, and wondering if this was typical cat behavior. I'd never seen two cats sleep on top of each other before, though--I don't really have a lot of experience with multiple-cat behavior. So I'm glad you posted this photo!

I laughed when I saw that on the site. Spirit sleeps on top of Shiva like that when they sit between my legs on the recliner. He takes up most of the space and she just lays out on top of him.

Spirit will curl up on my hip for a while like that, but will eventually go sleep with Shiva.

I was sick last week, and when I woke up in the morning, Nanook was lying along the length of my side with his cheek on mine. I immediately felt better!

I don't have any other cats, so he only has me to catpile with.:)
