I have one of those annoying mild cold / sinus infection things. Have
you noticed that the day before you get a cold you are full of energy?
That's how it works for me. The day before the cold, I actually started
writing a story, and I almost finished the wirework
bracelet that had
been sitting in pieces for months and months, and I had a really good
soak-n-talk with N at Osento and I also had a good talk with OH. Then
next morning I woke up with a sore throat.
Silver went ballist ic for about 24 hours. I was inconsolable because I knew if she stayed like that she'd be unadoptable and I'd have to put her down. But finally she remembered that it was OK to be touched and petted after I brushed her with the toilet brush (I know, gross, but the only thing I could find with a handle long enough that she couldn't bite me while I was using it).
I helped at the photography booth at the animal shelter's "Mutt Strutt." We made ~$250. I saw a demo by The Bay Team for Dog Agility.
I love agility trials

I used to go to Osento a lot in the early '80s. Haven't been there in way too long.

Re: your bracelet link
Date: 31 Aug 2001 12:22 pm (UTC)I'd be lousy tech support, I can't figure out why you can't see it :). Is there something turned off in your browser that would make a lack of a file extension a problem?
Should we perhaps take this off LJ? :):)

Re: your bracelet link
Date: 31 Aug 2001 01:30 pm (UTC)No, the file itself didn't have ".jpg" on it. Apparently some browsers decided on their own it was a jpeg and others didn't.
Re: your bracelet link
Date: 31 Aug 2001 02:26 pm (UTC)The web server involved plays a role in the
act.
In general, web servers look at the files
they serve and assign it a MIME type (JPEG, GIF,
HTML, etc.), typically based on file extension,
although CGI scripts can typically describe
the MIME type of their own output, etc.
A file with an unknown extension will get
something boring like text/plain.
Several browsers do have logic to try and
look for cases of missassigned MIME types,
to fix them up. If you do a properties of
the bracelet file (without the .JPG extension),
although you can see the file you'll see that
the properties pane still thinks it's a text
file.
Religious HTTP zealots would say that you
have to fix the extension on the web server
to do the right thing. Many tiems browsers
will fix up mismatches for you, but ignoring
zealtory it's probably best to not count
on that logic.
Not that this makes any difference, I just
had to exercise my geek muscles.
