That is cool. The same thing happens to me while researching and interviewing for journalistic articles- many times some odd-but-interesting tidbits don't make it in because they don't fit the angle or flow of the story. But they're often really fascinating.

Shiny indeed. And probably better than trying to shoehorn the stuff in. Every X months somebody should try and write something that uses as many of the bits as possible...
