There is some music I love but I can only listen to it rarely because the feelings I have when I listen to it are overwhelming.

I'm the same way. There's a song by Yu-ra that was kind of an anthem when I was feeling really bad, and listening to it brings those feelings back.

Some movies are even worse for me. I haven't watched The Breakfast Club all the way through since college for that reason.

Yes. I have a whole list of songs I sometimes can't listen to because they remind me of a particular ex and a time in my life when everything was hopeful. It's not like things are awful now, it's just sad to remember how I felt then, and how things actually turned out.
