I was fiddling around with my profile on Amazon and in one of the text sections I entered:
http://firecat.dreamwidth.org

Amazon responded with:
The text entered may not contain profanity

Further experimentation proved that entering any URL would cause this error message to appear. Even www.amazon.com ! In fact, entering any text followed by .org or .com caused it to appear. Entering "www" also caused it to appear.

All this stuff was just fine if entered in the "web page" field, however.

I first read the error message as a warning that profanity might not be present in the text ... as if somehow one would want it to be ... then I realised it meant that profanity is not permitted. D'oh!

Link spammers must be getting desperate if amazon has bothered to hack their profile code.
