Three weeks for Dreamwidth

I don't have a theme at this time (suggestions welcome), but I'm going to try to do at least one public post a day for the next three weeks. The posts won't be cross-posted to LJ but (assuming I remember) links to the posts will be.
This is the post for Monday 4/25. My clock says it's Tuesday but I haven't gone to bed yet. So there.
This article about humans, chimps, and bonobos is worth linking because it uses the phrase "polyamorous bonobo."

codswallopers they're doing a poll: Which Shakespeare characters most deserve a slap with a wet codfish?
I'm not planning to do the "21 questions about Dreamwidth" meme but if enough people say they want me to, I will.

Date: 26 Apr 2011 06:46 pm (UTC)I don't think we're that much like chimps, either, but I strongly suspect that a lot of the fuckery in the way we treat each other IS the 'natural' behaviour of humans as mammals (hierarchy, sexual battering, territorialism, yuck) and that the whole point of having giant brains is so that we can figure out a better way to do things.
