Body Impolitic discusses an interesting project having to do with Clothing, Sex, Safety, and Power.
George Takei continues to be made of awesome.
1. The planned live action Akira has a whitewashed cast, and he's been vocally opposing it.
Takei to WB: Do the Right Thing. This excerpt mentions that it's not exactly a new problem: "when I was very young, I read Pearl Buck’s epic novel of China, The Good Earth. And that film, all of the principal major roles were cast with Caucasians."
2. Also, he is speaking out in favor of legal marriage equality: "I had discussions with the Social Security Administration when they asked me to do this PSA, and it’s with that common understanding that, when I do the promotional round, I could speak out on the issue of equality."
(The PSA promotes the Social Security Administration's online services. There's a whole series of them, but I've only watched this one. It's pretty funny.)

I made a YouTube video playlist of some of the top pop songs from 1975. (I get a serious nostalgia hit even from the awful ones.) I'm not sure my YouTube account is set up to allow people to see it, so if you can't see it and you want to, let me know.

I'm thinking about the Body Impolitic post--I am also wrestling with the issue of trust and boundaries and stuff, mostly on the "Why is it that when less trustingness is suggested, folks fly into the boughs and cover their ears?" front.
