Thanks for posting this. I'd like to pass the link along to people in my cohousing community. We recently had a workshop on racism (see recent entry in my LJ blog), and we spent some time discussing racial micro-aggressions and how whites are often not aware that their words come across to others as micro-aggressions or micro-invalidations. A lot of them don't understand the concept of micro-aggressions at all.

Nice study. I, too, am glad to see stuff like this coming out of psychology. I wasn't aware of the term "Racial Microaggressions" but I instinctively understand it. A similar thing happens in conversations (mostly, but not solely, with white men) about language, specifically about what is derisively termed "politically correct" language. Doesn't matter whether it's racial or gender or age or ability that is the "neutral" I would like to see.
