Try microlending with no risk

Kiva.org, a microlending charity, is offering $25 "free trials" — join by August 13 and you get $25 to loan. Kiva and microlending have problems but I think overall they help some people stay out of poverty, so I support them.

I tried to do this, but at the moment that everything seemed to be in order and I was going to process the order, it just gave me a blank page (forever). Going back to the site and starting over or clicking reload both resulted in it saying that I already have a Kiva account and so I should just login. Logging in and looking at my account information says that I have no Kiva credit, but have also not made any loans.

Wow, that sucks.

I've been meaning to distribute some Kiva gift certificates anyway so maybe when the site settles down, I'll send you one.
