I'm a fat activist and I belong to the American Library Association.

The ALA sent me an ad for BBW T-shirts. I thought "Oh cool, they are advertising plus size T-shirts!" But it turned out they were T-shirts for Banned Books Week, 9/24-10/1. (They are available in sizes up to 3XL, so they're also plus-size, for some values of.)

Sounds like a good theme for a photo layout: big, beautiful women reading banned books!

This sort of thing happens to me ALL the TIME. If I get one acronym into my head with one meaning, that acronym can't ever have a different meaning without my head exploding.

I avoid all acronyms as much as possible for that reason!

There's a kind of eyedrop called FML. For some reason, we only seem to dispense it when the day has been particularly vile...

I have the same problem with GF. In some places, it means GirlFriend. In others, it means Gluten Free. Occasionally, they intersect: "My GF is GF."

I have a librarian friend who belongs to the Special Libraries Association. So when she wrote SLA meeting on her blackboard I had to draw a 7-headed cobra under it.

A lot of my friends run into trouble with CBT. It can mean:
* Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
* Cycle Basic Training (essential for motorcyclists in the UK before they are allowed on the road with a provisional license)
* Computer-Based Training
* or something not at all work safe where the first two words are male genitalia and the third word is "Torture" :)
