on an unrelated note: i saw a cat walking by the fence of a fast food place tonite. he was limping; in my headlights, i could see that he was missing a foot. i couldn't tell if he was in pain.
i parked and got out and talked to him. "are you ok? do you need a doctor?" he meowed at me.
i'm quite allergic to cats, and i've heard a lot about feral cats. i wasn't sure if he lived nearby and just hung out here; or if he was feral, disabled but healed; or if he was in need of some real help. so i got back in the car and took out my cell phone.
Good to hear that you salvaged most of the shirts! Of course, I would just use the pen-in-the-wash results as an excuse to buy new shirts. But you knew that, didn't ya? hee

i looked back, and of course the cat was gone.
