Change to Livejournal comment settings

Once was funny, but ten times a day is fucked up.

I'm getting so much comment spam on Livejournal that I need to entirely turn off comments for people not on my friends list there.

If you aren't on my LJ friends list and you want to comment, your options are:
--Add me to your friends list; I will reciprocate if you appear to have a legitimate interest in my journal.
--Comment on Dreamwidth. On Dreamwidth I allow comments from any registered user, although I screen comments from people not on my access list. You can comment on my DW journal using OpenID or you can get a free account (http://www.dreamwidth.org/).

I got the crush spam today.

Not only can I no longer comment on LJ, I can't even react to comments on my posts--can't mark them as spam, can't screen, can't delete. Their new javascript update and my browser/computer are incompatible.

I need to go through my journal, delete the contents of each post & replace with a link to the DW import, and shut off comments.

I think you can just update your crosspost settings to disallow LJ comments, then open the entries on the DW side and re-save them to shut off the comments (though you can't delete the content of the original post that way).
