I bought an iPad Air and some accessories the other day. Although I bought them all at the same time from the same company, they arrived in five separate LARGE boxes, all of which contained a smaller box.

The first photo shows the packaging.



The second photo shows the packaging together with the accessorized iPad Air, and a curious cat.

I assume it's more efficient (!) for them, because the stuff probably arrives boxed from the distributor. And unboxing would offer opportunities for both damage and shrinkage. But there oughta be a better way. (The better way would involve more cost at their end and less shipping cost, but shipping cost isn't internalized in quite the same way.)

Ugh. And if you get it at the store, is there really less packaging, or do they just throw it away before you see it?
