59 sff books by women and 1 by a man. Longish "back cover" descriptions of the books at the link, with spoilers, if you're a purist about spoilers (https://ladybusiness.dreamwidth.org/2016/08/08/60-essential-science-fiction-fantasy-reads.html)

bold means I read it
strikethru means I didn't like it (but isn't a comment on the quality of the book in any objective sense. I dislike some classics).

I am immensely fond of Frances Hardinge. Fly By Night hooked me good and hard, but it is definitely a children's book.

I would like to recommend Cloud Roads but first I need to know: what did you dislike about Foreigner?

I really loved Range of Ghosts. It's a unique (as far as I know) mixture of the domestic and the epic. Then again, I feel I should mention that some of the books you didn't like are among my favorites, so our tastes may not line up.

I didn't realize I was on the list. I missed that entry somehow. Wow.
