Are there any songs that remind you so much of a particular part of your life that you feel like your heart is going to break?

"Two Little Girls" --Ani Difranco. The song wasn't out during that period of my life, but it puts my heart in my throat because it describes my relationship with J so well.

Most of my other heavy-hitting nostalgic songs come from when I was in college, and they tend to put a smile (whether happy or chagrinned) on my face. Several of my friends and I worked for the campus radio station, and we used to play a bizarre form of musical torture, depending on whose turn it was in the barrel, so to speak. The morning after I got really drunk and lost my (consensual) virginity, the radio blared "Tequila Sunrise" by the Eagles, "Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel, and "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" by Meatloaf all...damned....day. When I hear those songs now, I just giggle. They remind me of a much more innocent, much happier time of my life.
