OK, so how come the result of the Presidential Candidate Selector came out "Libertarian candidate 100%" when I checked the following:

  • There should be a guaranteed livable annual income for all, including those outside the work force.
  • Federal funding of welfare and assistance to unemployed and under-employed individuals and families should be increased
  • Support a universal health care program to guarantee coverage to all Americans regardless of income.
  • Regarding the positions of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, my ideal candidate will generally share the positions of the NAACP

That's wierd.. I would take it again. I got: Green Party Candidate (100%)..and the answers above were the same as yours. And those are definitely not Libertarian answers.

that's strange indeed. i gave the same answers as you on those items, and i ended up with kucinich, dean, sharpton (*aie* on the sharpton). i would have been very surprised if i had ended up with the libertarian party candidate on top -- as it was, zie was down under 50%, though not as low as shrub (who was third from the bottom).

Al Sharpton is such a great candidate, even Republicans support him!

I scored fairly high on Sharpton, perhaps because they did not have a question like "Must Not Have a Perm"

Kucinich

I got a high match for Kucinich, and not much of a match at all for Dean.

What's all the fuss about Dean?

And, I've been watching West Wing. Bartlet isn't nearly radical enough for me. In fact, from my point of view, he's very conservative.

What weight did you put on those questions?

It's been my experience with SelectSmart over time that they will find a way to make sure no one has less than a 100% match with anything if they can get away with it, so they grade on a curve. This is how someone else I know had a -8% match with Lyndon LaRouche. You can't match less than 0%, so their matching scores are blatantly skewed.

I chose those same answers among others and I got 100% match with the Green Party. Um. Not if they nominate Nader again.
