I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."
I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal, if you feel like it.

Date: 13 Dec 2003 10:58 am (UTC)Hi Firecat!
Date: 13 Dec 2003 08:28 am (UTC)I befriended you because I like your spunk and spirit. I also think the cat picture is delightful. I'm considering the look for one of my 5 cats (all related - Himilayan and Himilayan/Siamese - *way* too much hair!!!)
I am new to LJ and have very little personal time. So I am adding new friends every time I cross a "kindred spirit" and enjoying getting to know them a little. I need to write in my own journal more but I get interested in my friends, old and new.
When I was small, my father worked for NASA and was always pulling us out of bed at 3 a.m. in PJs to see the Northern Lights, A Comet with an actual wide tail, moons around a planet. He really opened my eyes. Thanks Dad.
I used to play cello until someone borrowed and never returned it. It was made in 1789 in Marseilles, France and was marched through the streets. (Peg holes in the back.) I speak a little french and have been to Paris, to Montreal and Quebec.
I've been to Europe 7 times and lived in a village of 50 in southern England called Crowhurst.
If we were a nicer country, I'd go again.
My name means whiteraven in Gaelic.
I made it up and the "sex" is wrong. LOL!!!!

Date: 13 Dec 2003 05:51 pm (UTC)I used to read your alt.poly posts prior to the year September never ended, and have enjoyed being a fellow wombat for quite a few years now.
Today, over supper, I was telling stories of meeting Canadian politicans. I realized that though I've met many many politicians in person (including the newly appointed Canadian Finance Minister when he was running in his very first election, my mother gave him a very hard time in our kitchen on the farm, he being a liberal, and thus suspect, and she being a ccf/ndp'r) I've never met anyone in the US who actually knows any US politicians (therealjae has also met tons of politicians, but I think they're all Canadian).
Lovely idea for a thread!

Date: 16 Dec 2003 12:48 pm (UTC)a long time to admit that what I'd said *had been* funny. Someone
looking in our copy of Mostly Harmless might think that the humor
was his idea, potentially. %-}

P.S.: Yes, I will tell you sometime, but it's a better story IRL.
