I recently bought myself a little Japanese cast-iron teapot (tetsubin) with a mesh strainer. I want to brew loose-leaf tea in it. Do you know a source for good loose-leaf tea on the web? What brands do you especially like?

I especially like strong black tea that can stand up to milk, and toasted rice tea.

I *swear* by Upton Tea. In the dim past of the mid 90's, i was able to call and have them help me place an order when i didn't have a catalog handy, They referenced my previous orders and were able to suggest new teas. While the web has supplanted that now, i suspect you could send this query to them and have them suggest some teas.

Or you could go to the list of breakfast blends and select a bunch of $1 samples:

Roasted rice teas from Japan are in this section

I like that they have some organic teas. Their "we choose" shipping has always satisfied me to my Presidio and Mountain View addresses.

HTH!
