firecat: angry looking persian kitten with text "I HATE EVERYTHING" (hate everything)

I'm feeling more out of sorts than usual today. It's nothing specific and I don't particularly want to take up bandwidth whining about it, but I'd love to be distracted by comments about things that are nifty, beautiful, funny, and otherwise happy-making.

I received a very nice compliment yesterday, from my business office liaison: "I was just thinking today how easy you make my life. Everything is always in order and ready for me."

Mike Jittlov has released The Wizard of Speed and Time on BitTorrent.

Griddlers (http://www.griddlers.net/) is a fun logic-puzzle site.

I finally earned enough Filthy Lucre in Kingdom of Loathing to acquire a Pompadour'd Puppy familiar.

Oooh, Wizard of Speed and Time!

Congratulations on your new familiar. I'm relatively new, still playing solo and letting my leprechaun suck up the meat for me.

Ha! Me, too.

Do you have any ideas about what to do with a big bunch of neckties other than abandon them at a thrift store. Would you like some?

What was the price range on the R*mi restaurant?

Do you want to know the URL for a somewhat addictive flash game that involved "rolling" a ball through a maze with simulated gravity?

I've seen gorgeous skirts made out of neckties. Cut off the smaller flared end, stitch 'em together along the straight part, leave the larger flared end loose for a handkerchief hem. Add a drawstring waistband and you're good to go.

Would you like a bunch for that purpose? Firecat quite understood that i'm passing on a stash. I've created wings and a tail for a wall hanging and do not plan to make the full costume plus the performance piece. (The emotional impetus for the project is ten years past now, and i haven't worked on it in eight years!)

I'm packing for Stitches and all it's yarny goodness!

Toni will be here between 4 and 5 to pick me up. After I introduce her to Polly, (my Kromski Polonaise spinning wheel--a Christmas gift) we are heading out to dinner on our way to Stitches. I'll probably see you around :)

Call right now and ask about cancellations. My Yarn Angel got into the Hyatt last year the week of the Stitches. I just canceled my Saturday night reservations the other day. You know you wanna come...

BTW I made my hotel reservations several months before the Stitches schedule was released. I am not surprised that they were booked up.

I think I saw Anthony Bourdain at lunch today.

Also, I had a fabulous pastrami sandwich--no mayo in the coleslaw!

And my son told me I'm the best grandparent, because despite the fact that the others ones all live right there in town, they never see the baby, and I show the most interest and talk to them most often. Go me!

I bought the baby this for his first birthday (coming up on April 3).

Well, Spirit and Shiva are getting along better than I expected.

And I just ordered nuts, chocolate, chocolate-covered nuts, snack mixes, chocolate-covered caramels, and more stuff to take to Minicon. Okay, I'm keeping a few for myself.

Happy Thoughts

By sharing your feelings, you also shared all the wonderful posts from your friends, and reading them put a smile on my face, and helped ease my general malaise.
