I was in Hawai'i when Bruddah Iz died. The whole state went into mourning. Love this song.

I've loved this version since I first heard it in the (UK) series finale to Life on Mars.

Yeah, throughout the series, there are frequent references to The Wizard of Oz. For example, Gene often refers to Sam as "Dorothy" because of Sam's tendency to act like he just arrived via tornado.

The Iz version of "Over the Rainbow" rounds that allusion off nicely, I think.

I think you will be quite pleased with what-all it has on it. (Some minor differences in broadcast vs DVD songs, but I think it works both ways.)

Aaaaaaa! I do not need to get all re-obsessed with a 16-ep series! No!

I'd never heard of him before (and despite watching Life on Mars didn't recognize that 'cos I'm hopeless at music), but wow, what a voice. Thank you for introducing me to him .

huh.

I hadn't noticed (I think that all my favourite pieces survived intact, including the Iz piece previously described).

I LOVE Iz and have a lot of his CDs. The Over the Rainbow/What a Beautiful World is especially beautiful. We lost a great talent to soon.
