What kind of thing are you looking for? I have a lot of games, an ereader app, some health related ones, guided meditations, a dictionary, a twitter client... I can rec things along those lines. I just got an awfully fun word game, for instance, called Stitch'em. There's a lite version that's free to try it out.
Thanks! I'm specifically looking for something to keep my book wishlist in, but beyond that, I'm just looking for stuff that's cool and useful. What's your ereader and twitter client?
I use Stanza as a reader and TweetDeck for twitter. I use the GoodReads app for book wishlists, though that only works for me a) because I have a GoodReads account all set up and full of books and b) when I have a wifi connection.
I'm partial to http://iphone.appstorm.com as they do fairly thorough reviews, include useful screenshots, and other such stuff.
And yeah, if you have specific stuff in mind, I'm glad to offer suggestions too.
The ones I use *all the time* are:
AwesomeNote: Notepad, lets you group stuff in folders, and has a very lovely interface. Groceries: for grocery shopping HomeRoutine: for household chore tracking Stanza: for reading books on.
Stuff I use a bit less, but when I want it, it's very handy: StitchMinder: for tracking knitting CheckPlease: tip and tab division Packing List: for packing for trips (has default lists, but you can also create your own or edit easily.)
And a range of games.
YNAB and Things (which sync with my desktop versions of both, and are not as much use without them)
My recommendations: - Reeder is the best RSS client I've found - Osfoora is my Twitter client of choice, but the "official" one seems to be pretty good these days as well - grab the various e-reader apps: iBooks, Kindle, Nook, etc. Grab a free book from each vendor to see which one works best for you -- font choices, etc can make or break them.
- games? there are many good games that are only $1 apiece.
Gizmodo has an "essential iPhone apps directory" which is probably almost entirely applicable to the iPod Touch here (http://gizmodo.com/tag/iphoneappsdirectory). They also have a recurring "best of the app store this week" feature which you can specifically follow using their tag system, but I'm not having any lucky tracking an example down to pass the link over. I will when I find it.
Okay, here (http://gizmodo.com/tag/iphoneapps/) is a link to Gizmodo's "iPhone Apps" feed, and here (http://gizmodo.com/5641282) is an example "best iPhone apps of the week" post. I have *no* idea if and/or how you can get a continuous filter of just their best-iPhone-apps posts, but you could follow the wider feed. If you use an RSS reader of any kind, that's probably the best way -- the RSS feed for their "iPhone Apps" tag is this (feed://gizmodo.com/tag/iphoneapps/index.xml).
