I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal, if you feel like it.

i first started taking my dad to cleveland indians baseball games when i won a contest where i voted for rocky colavito as my favorite ballplayer. max alvis won, but the runner-up prize was tickets to a game. i was probably eight and i was *very* proud to be able to treat my dad to a game.

That is a lovely story!

Nest time I'm in Chicago during baseball season, let's go to a Cub game!

this sounds adorable.

i used to get my own scorecard. i have an idiosyncratic system but it can be understood by others. it made me very useful when i was dating my ex who played for three different softball teams. it got to the point where the umpires would check with me to make sure that the numbers they were keeping were correct.

There's a book called something like The Curse of Rocky Colavito that blames all the Indians' troubles on trading him.
